I had the opportunity to work with Geoff and Michele on a joint project called Finding the Gaps: Navigating sustainable learning futures for Indigenous students. Geoff and Michele were very successful in working with the project committee and also with Aboriginal people in remote, rural and urban communities and school personnel. They were highly committed in keeping the project committee well informed of their progress either by attending project committee meetings or emails. They visited all of the communities and worked collaboratively with the schools and the Aboriginal communities. Both of them were very well received by the Aboriginal communities because they they increased their cultural understanding of how to approach and engage the community groups and individuals. Their high level of communication, interpersonal and research skills ensured that the project achieved all of its objectives. The professionalism of the completed research report lead to a treaty being signed between the three different educational sectors within the region.
