The nature of these consultancies includes:

  • Professional development in literacy learning and teaching and pedagogy at school, district and state level in all systems
  • Advice to Catholic Education Qld on syllabus development
  • Work with Learning Development Centres Literacy in Townsville, Mt Isa, Dysart, Rockhampton, Gladstone, Redcliffe, Gold Coast, Ashgrove, Belmont, Logan, Roma, Goondiwindi and Toowoomba
  • Long term (4-6months to 2 year) Multiliteracies Projects assisting groups of teachers to conduct action research that changes their literacy pedagogy and validates the change in their teaching practice. These projects have been conducted in the Inala cluster, Toowoomba LDC (Literacy) Townsville District (2 groups) Fairview Heights State School, St Bernadine’s Catholic Primary School, Regent’s Park and Moreton Bay College Brisbane
  • Working with the literacy and numeracy team of the ACT Department of Education and Training in 2003/4/5 providing advice and professional development on whole school literacy planning and multiliteracies.
  • Extensive work with the Qld Literate Futures Project 2002 –2004. Michèle Anstey was director and adviser to the project authoring Literate Futures Reading and the Handbook for the CD ROM materials launched May 2004. Geoff Bull has also acted as adviser and written for the project.
  • Specific professional development assistance to teachers and administrators dealing with leadership and management in a climate of change.
